Plant Biostimulation and Strengthening with Biorend®
Biorend® is a natural-origin product derived from chitin. It is fully biodegradable, non-toxic and environmentally friendly, and approved for use in organic agriculture. It has been developed to activate plants’ natural defense mechanisms and enhance vitality from the earliest growth stages.
Mode of Action:
The active component of Biorend® is chitosan (N-acetyl-glucosamine), a natural polymer originating from chitin. Chitin is commonly found in the cell walls of certain pathogenic fungi and in insect exoskeletons. When plants come into contact with chitosan, they trigger their internal defense responses as if under attack, without suffering real stress or phytotoxic effects.
In this way, Biorend® stimulates the plant immune system through the mechanism known as Systemic Acquired Resistance (SAR). This response involves biochemical and structural changes that result in increased biomass, improved crop establishment and higher overall yields.
The product is systemically absorbed through seeds or roots, contributing to stronger and healthier crop development.
Key Benefits:
Supports overall yield increase and plant vigor
Enhances fruit number and size, leading to higher production
Promotes balanced root and shoot development for better uptake of water and nutrients
Strengthens cell walls by boosting lignin deposition, reducing sensitivity to drought, cold and pathogen attacks
Helps reduce transplant shock and accelerates early establishment
Exhibits fungistatic activity against pathogens such as Verticillium, Phytophthora, Fusarium, Pythium and Botrytis
Contributes to lowering plant-parasitic nematode populations by stimulating beneficial soil microflora
Reduces transpiration and improves water-use efficiency
Improves seed germination and supports longer post-harvest storage of fruits and vegetables
Composition:
Chitosan – N-acetyl-glucosamine 1.88 %
Application and Dosage:
Root drench or foliar spray every 10 to 15 days
30 ml per 10 litres of water
300 ml per 100 litres of water per hectare
